IHI Marine United (IHIMU), a Japanese shipbuilding subsidiary of IHI, signed a technical cooperation agreement with the EAS shipyard (Estaleiro Atlantico Sul), the largest shipyard in Brazil, on the 27th.
The EAS shipyard delivered a Suez-type tanker in May this year. The plant is still holding 21 Suez-type tankers, Aframax tankers and 7 drilling platform ships. As the only shipyard in Brazil to build large-scale ships and offshore projects, EAS Shipyards is working with IHIMU to increase productivity, deliver on time, improve plant operations, and seek technical support partners. In July, IHIMU will dispatch a technical support team to the shipyard as a technical support.
